ART OF THE DAY

I took this photo while walking around the city one evening. It was midnight and I couldn't sleep so I grabbed my camera and walked around. I love how it came out - the sky was a weird color that night. The funny thing from the evening is that I had to walk through the projects to get to the park and I got cat-called by a group of female teenagers. And as pathetic as it sounds, yes, my confidence rose. And yes, it's even MORE pathetic writing that sentence!

ART OF THE DAY

Here's the deal - I think seeing a woman sunbathing without her top while laying face down is one of the sexiest sights ever. Of course if she was laying on her back I wouldn't mind that either...

Ah summertime.

ART OF THE DAY

This is a photo I found on Flickr entitled, "The Night Before" by Blunted. I think it's beautiful that they even thought to do this on, I'm assuming, the night before the birth of their child. Doesn't it capture the excitement they seem to be feeling? Really beautiful.

ART OF THE DAY

What a funny advertisement for someone to do - I found this on Flickr (posted by apollosputnik). I wonder what type of e-mails they received...and if it mended their heart.

ART OF THE DAY

This is a photo of a piece of art hanging in the Barcelona Contemporary Art Museum. I looked at this for a while thinking that it was different but also a bit surprised it was hanging in such a prestigious museum. It's from an artist from the United States named Nancy Spero. It has grown on me.

You'll need to click on the image to be able to read the text I think.

ART OF THE DAY

In keeping with the previous post I found this photograph on Flickr.com by Casey Serin under the tag "jail". What was I thinking?!

ART OF THE DAY

This is a street in Cordoba, Spain called "Scarf" because it is so narrow and winding. I propped myself up between the buildings to take a photo.

ART OF THE DAY

This is a photo I took in Sevilla, Spain. A girl was reading a book on the river boardwalk as the sunset's reflection glares off the water.

ART OF THE DAY

A girl sitting in front of me on the train was staring out the window for the entire 4-hour trip. I stared at her reflection in the window wondering what she was thinking about. The picture didn't come out as good as I had hoped but I like it none-the-less.

ART OF THE DAY

A photo I took of a Salvador Dali painting at the museum in Figueres, Spain. So much of his work was based around his lover Gala - it was romantic to see what an influence she was on his mind. And every painting didn't seem like a longing or even a happiness of her/with her, but rather an extreme adoration for her.

ART OF THE DAY

I love this photo - hope it doesn't come out too dark. It's a priest in the St. James Cathedral in Santaigo Spain (St. James remains are buried there - he was beheaded in the year 44). On the lower-right hand side you can see the shoes of a woman confessing her sins. It looks kind of spooky, no?

ART OF THE DAY

This is a photo from a camp site some friends and I set up in the mountains in Seattle. Doesn't this picture make it look mystical? It was so peaceful...well, except for the worrying over being eaten by a cougar...

ART OF THE DAY

This is one of my favorite subway performers. This old man plays music on his keyboard and sets up all these wind-up, dancing toys around him. It's one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

ART OF THE DAY

This is a photograph of some friends and I hiking through a rain forest in Washington (I believe it's the only U.S. rain forest). Have you ever seen anything so green? It was amazing.

ART OF THE DAY

I was helping a friend make a collage of fire fighting pics for a friend of theirs that was graduating as a firemen. We visited several firehouses around NYC. This is one of my favorite pics from the project.

ART OF THE DAY

This is a photo taken at the National Zoo in D.C. I hadn't been to a zoo in years and I don't really plan on going back - it saddened me to see these animals caged up.
